Because Chris cracks me up

Chris decided that it was time for Brendan to get on the band wagon and signed him up for Twitter. If you're into that, you can follow Brendan here. (No, I'm not joking.)

More soon on our move to our bigger and nicer apartment, and lots of updates of things around here. Be back soon!

America loves Dunkin'

It's so true- this boy's face is living proof that America does indeed love Dunkin' Donuts.

He ate one whole chocolate frosted donut all by himself and then the top chocolate layer of a second, which was supposed to be mine- but I'll forgive him. I really don't need all those delicious calories. So I guess he did me a favor.

More stickers

Brendan enjoyed some new stickers this week thanks to my parents. They know of Brendan's love for all things sticky so they picked out some cool stickers at the dollar store.

When we opened the package, Brendan organized all the different sheets around him in a fan. He did that all by himself, too.

He especially loves the Thomas stickers and carries around the package with him. I haven't opened any of the stickers yet since this way they will last infinitely longer but he's still enjoying them all the same. Thank you, mom and dad! It was the perfect treat for a certain little boy.

An Interesting Sight

Yesterday evening we had quite the interesting cloud off in the distance. Just to the left of the cloud is Mt. Washington (not pictured), the tallest mountain in New England and said to be the home of the worst weather in the United States. Mt Washington is centered between 3 different storm jets which produces insanely bad weather just about all year round at the peak.

In fact, Mt Washington holds the record for the fastest wind speed ever recorded and is well known around here for icicles that form horizontally because of the wind.

It's my guess that the wind swirling within the different storm jets formed this cool cloud. These pictures really don't do it justice.

Hopefully when we make it up to Mt Washington in the summer (we only live about 30 minutes away), we won't experience any of the horrible weather conditions, but it's possible. Our neighbors have told us to bring heavy sweaters when we go up to the peak.

Now it just needs to be summer already so we can start enjoying all the interesting things around us. Bring on the warm weather!

A lovely weekend

This weekend we escaped to civilization for a bit to shake things up around here. We headed to Concord, NH to spend some quality time together. On the 2 hour drive there, Brendan was so funny relaxing in his car seat. I had to take some pictures.

He loves to prop his feet up on Chris's seat and cross them over each other. It just seems like such an adult thing to do, it made me laugh to see our little boy doing it.

There's not much to say about Concord. It was fun to get out and have a variety of things to do besides go to Walmart or Burger King but it wasn't life altering. The best part of the day was going to Target. Man, I miss Target. We had fun and Brendan loved the expansive toy section that they had there.

Once back at home, Brendan got to play in the sink while Chris did some dishes. Chris washes the dishes most of the time- I've VERY lucky. But fortunately, we are moving and our new place has a dishwasher. Hallelujah!

Brendan really could climb in the sink if we let him. He was angry that Chris was done and turned off the water, so he was trying to reach the knob and turn it back on. Which he did.

He makes me laugh.

And of course, today was Easter. We had a lovely day and Brendan even got to show off his adorable tweed jacket for the first time. This is the only article of clothing that Chris has ever picked out for Brendan. When we saw it (back when I was still pregnant with Bren), Chris demanded that we buy it. So we did.

Brendan had fun checking out his Easter stash. We really didn't get him a whole lot of candy but he still enjoyed it- mostly because his Easter basket was a Lightning McQueen lunch box.

That jacket turned out quite cute. Good choice Chris. He kept calling Brendan "little professor."

And I would like to point out how long my hair is getting. This is the longest it has been in years and I can actually put it back into a very small ponytail. It's a good feeling.

We tried to get a cute family portrait of sorts with the my camera's remote but a lot of them turned out like this. Brendan loves the remote and constantly wants to be in charge of it.

This is the best we could do. Not my favorite but at least it's something. We'll keep trying though.

Brendan's Dancey Dance

Good news! We finally found the power cord to our point and shoot digital camera, which means we were able to charge our camera and can finally take videos of Brendan doing cool things again.

This clip is Brendan watching his favorite episode of Yo Gabba Gabba. And during this episode there's this awesome animated segment of two frogs dancing, and he LOVES it so much he dances along. If you'd like to see the segment, check them out here. It's one of my faves too.

Bath time is fun time

Not much to say, just wanted to share some pictures I took today. My sweet boy taking a bath and having fun- today was a good day.

A post about nothing

I don't have too much to blog about but I thought I better post some pictures before I incur the wrath of the grandparents.

Life here has been pretty normal. We're busy but enjoying the warmer weather. It's been rainy a lot so we still haven't gotten many chances to enjoy the area around us yet.

So instead we find lots of fun activities to do inside. Like chalk. Brendan loves it and it was only $1 at Walmart.

This is the first thing he wanted to do this morning. Forget eating or getting changed, it was all about the chalk.

He still loves the sink with a passion and we have to battle some fierce tantrums when he can't play in it. It's pretty cute though.

Still loving Yo Gabba Gabba. There was a new episode this past week staring Jack Black and it was Awesome! Brendan wore his Brobee shirt in honor of it.

And stickers. Stickers provide endless entertainment for Brendan and also gives me a way to get him to talk a bit more. He is doing a lot better with talking more frequently and trying new words. I'm really grateful for that and hoping that he'll start talking freely and on his own. Right now it's mostly only when we ask him to say a word. But the stickers help. He likes to point to things and name what they are. And he LOVES alphabet stickers and we go through the whole alphabet as he arranges them on a page. It's been a great learning opportunity.

Hopefully next time we'll have some more exciting things to write about but until then, stay crunchy (that's for you, Chris).
